Hopeful Story, May 20, 2012

Our prayer co-ordinators, Connie and Jackie, and their prayer team come together faithfully on Wednesday nights to offer up intercessory prayers. By this we mean prayers that intercede or make requests on behalf of others.
One person for whom intercessory prayers were lifted to God was a little girl named Camryn, who went to Sick Kids Hospital to receive a bone marrow transplant from her dad, Ray.
Camryn’s parents are friends of Connie’s son, Jeff, whose own little girl Danielle is a cancer survivor for whom Hope Fellowship has prayed many times.
How did God answer the intercessory prayers said for Camryn?
According to Jeff, “I had dropped off a number of things that I knew the family would need for their time in isolation as they waited for the bone marrow transplant to take. One of the items was a colourful journal inscribed with the words, ‘If the eyes had no tears, the soul would have no rainbow.’ This hit home because, 'God-incidentally', we had seen rainbows almost every time we were released from the hospital, rainbows that gave momentum to our faith and our fight with cancer.
“As I dropped off the package at the hospital, I posted ‘Delivering smiles at Sick Kids” on their Facebook page. Michelle replied by saying ‘Yes, you absolutely did. And just so you know…we've moved into a room that you occupied before.’
“How did they know? As they were moving into their room (one and a half years after we had left it) the sun was shining through the window and they could see the words that we had written on their window: ‘Impossible is Nothing.’ That saying meant so much to my family because Danielle and all of us wore ‘Impossible is Nothing’ t-shirts for every surgery/procedure, every MRI, and every doctor’s appointment. We even got Danielle’s shirt signed by all of the characters on her Disney cruise for her wish trip…which, ‘God-incidentally’, is where we met Camryn and her family.”
Connie, Jackie and the rest of the prayer team invite you to return prayer cards to the Prayer Box by the main sanctuary doors. As they intercede to God on your behalf and pray about your concerns and needs (confidentially, of course), who knows what kind of “God-incidence” you may experience in your life. After all, with God nothing is impossible!
