Hello from Ecclesia Church!
As we head into the summer, we’re giving thanks for what God is doing in and through and around us in Oshawa. We’ve now been worshipping together every Sunday evening for nine months; and, since January, we’ve been focusing our energy together on connecting with our neighbours in meaningful ways throughout North Oshawa.
Beginning in Advent, we journeyed with a small group through an Alpha course, which is now leading us into new opportunities for relationship and growth together.
In April, we partnered with a local organization called Mommy Connections to do some free Saturday morning story times in the community centre; we hope to bring those back this fall.
This summer, we’ve been spending most of our Saturdays in our booth at the North Oshawa Farmer’s Market, joining with the efforts to build community there with some art and children’s activities. In fact, our time at the market was meant to be finished at the end of June, but the organizers have liked having us there so much, they invited us to come back for the rest of the summer!
In the coming weeks and months, we’ll be celebrating our first baptism in July, with a baby dedication to follow later in the summer, and we’re preparing to move our worship gatherings from Pastor Jana’s living room into Northview Community Centre on September 9th.
We’ve been blessed to have these opportunities to embody the hope we have in Christ in our neighbourhood through these partnerships and initiatives, and we’re grateful for your support as we continue to follow where God leads in building a new community of faith in Oshawa.
