Hopeful Story, Oct 30, 2016

The Hope Without Borders Committee has received lots of exciting information over the past few days.
The first family of the group will be arriving in Courtice on or around Nov. 3, 2016. Although we have been dependent on informal channels for the passing of information back and forth, official notification from World Renew arrived this afternoon. Throughout the wait over the past few months we have been ably assisted by staff in the local MP offices. We give thank for these helpful individuals.
This family of 3 will be temporarily housed in the Bowmanville area and by the middle of November they will be moving into an apartment that has been rented for them. If you are interested in helping out with supplying some of the last items we need for our Syrian newcomers, please check out www.signupgenius.com and sign up for what you are able to provide (it doesn’t have to be new). Please make sure you check off what you are providing so that we don’t have doubles. You are welcome to bring your donations to church on Sunday or connect with Janette through the office.
It is anticipated that a second family consisting of 7 individuals (2 women and 5 children), related to the first family, will be arriving before the end of this year. We will put all of the materials that have been donated to good use.
Thanks be to God for his goodness. We solicit your prayers for all of these newcomers as they travel and also as they begin to adjust to a radically different country and way of living!
On an ongoing basis, the Hope Without Border Committee will also communicating with the congregation and the public at large using the FaceBook page at:  www.facebook.com/hopewithoutborders2016
