Hopeful Story, May 14, 2017

Most of us don’t like to talk about money all that much, but sometimes it is necessary. As members of Hope Fellowship, it’s important that each of us knows what is going on and what part we play in this place we call our church family.
Our leaders get together in the spring, and based on how they believe God is leading our church, they prepare a budget for the next fiscal year. Then they present it to the members of Hope Fellowship and if we believe that this represents what God is calling us to do, we vote to approve the budget.
Our fiscal year runs from July 1– June 30 and so now its time to look at our budget for the coming year. Our elders and staff have been hard at work at preparing the budget, and you will have a chance to see it next week. Copies will be sent in the Friday email and hard copies will be available by request. Chris Ritskes, our Administrative Zone Coordinator, will be available on Sunday, May 21 and Sunday, May 28 to answer any questions you have. You are also welcome to email your questions to admin@hopefellowship.ca.
On Sunday, June 4, the day we go back to ONE morning service at 10:00 a.m., you will hear from the leadership of our church, and be given opportunity to vote on the budget. It is incorporated into the worship service so that as many people as possible are able to participate.
Once that is done, its time for our annual church picnic. Plan to stay after church and enjoy lunch with your Hope Fellowship people. Hamburgers and hotdogs will be provided. We are asking that if your last name starts with A-M please bring a dessert and if your last name starts with N-Z, please bring a salad. We’ve switched it up this year, so the people at the beginning of the alphabet have some fun creating desserts.
