As many of you already know, Jenny and I will be leaving Courtice and moving to Hamilton this coming week. Although this has all happened very quickly, the reality is that we have been thinking about, and researching, this move for more than a year. We just didn't know when it was going to happen, and then everything changed in early October when we received an email from our real estate agent in Hamilton. After much prayer, and debating out all the factors, the pros and cons, and in particular being closer to kids and grandkids, we concluded this was the right decision.
We have lived in Oshawa and Courtice for over 36 years, were married in Zion CRC raised our family here, and have been blessed immensely through these years, both at Zion and Hope. We have always believed that sharing of one’s resources, skills, and time, is critically important in being a church member. We have experienced many different opportunities in which to participate, serve, and volunteer and each one of these has allowed us to gain new friendships, skills, and knowledge, which have all helped to strengthen our faith in God, letting us give back to the community that we are part of. We have also experienced the blessing of being members/leaders of a Small Group (Life Group) for most of our time at Zion and Hope. The opportunity to fellowship, pray, learn and discover is something we will always treasure.

As we prepared for this move, we have quickly come to the realization that there will be many changes, along with some new challenges and opportunities. We are looking forward to a new adventure in our lives which includes finding a new church community. Hope Fellowship will always have a special place in our hearts and we will forever have fond memories. We say “Thank You" to our Hope Fellowship family and we will continue praying for Hope as it seeks to live out its Vision of “A community embracing and living out God’s redemptive plan.”
