Hopeful Story, November 26, 2017

Dear people of HOPE,
Over the past month, Pastor Dale has been preaching on the “inside out church”, and the past two weeks have been very mission focused… challenging us to think outside of our normal and sometimes comfortable ‘pews’, to find ways in which to engage the world around us in an effort to love and serve our “neighbours”.
Whether it is Disaster Response Services, the Syrian Refugee Crisis, Service Saturdays, SERVE, or mission trips to the Dominican Republic, over the years, the people of HOPE have stepped up time and again both as a community and as individuals!
The past few weeks our offerings have also been earmarked for missions beyond the four walls of Hope, and the people of HOPE stepped up again!
On Nov 6th the offering was for Resonate Global Missions with all moneys going to support Sheila and Jonathan, two members of our church on missions in West Africa. To help support their ministry we raised over $3,000.
Nov 12th we supported World Renew, an agency of our denomination, with $2,346.02 to support the ongoing issue of feeding the hungry in our world!
Then this past week, we were challenged to give to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank as they support over half a million Rohingya people who have escaped extreme violence and persecution in Myanmar and are seeking refuge across the border in Bangladesh.
The people of Hope took up the challenge and supported this global mission with $3,849.80, which our Canadian Governments matched 5:1. When I do the math, that means that God multiplied our giving to totaled over $23,000.00!!!
We get to be part of the story God is writing throughout the world. These are just a few that we as a church family are participating in. Praise God for the faithful giving of the people of HOPE! Your blessings are a blessing to others!
