Hopeful Story, February 4, 2018

You just never know when you may face an opportunity to make a difference!

A little over a week ago, a group of women from our church (names are not listed to protect the innocent!) went out for dinner to the grand opening of the new Fionn MacCools restaurant in Bowmanville.
Over dinner, they met the owners. During the conversation the owners mentioned that all the tips from that evening were going to be donated locally. The women mentioned Bethesda House (bethesdahouse.ca) as an option and shared the importance of the work being done there to support abused women and their children.
We went back this week, and the owners informed us that they raised $1,200 in that one evening for Bethesda House! A social date with friends led to an intentional conversation with a stranger that ultimately led to a gift that will transform the lives of women and children in our community.
We are blessed 2B a blessing!

”Since its inception in 1992 Bethesda House is proud to have evolved from simply a shelter for abused women and their children to a well-known and respected agency providing a comprehensive system of professional supports that are an integral part of our community’s continuum of services to victims of domestic abuse.” (Bethesdahouse.ca)
