Hopeful Story, January 18, 2015

After eighteen months without a Service and Outreach Zone Coordinator, God has blessed Hope Fellowship with someone to head up this important zone. Upon the recommendation of the personnel committee, the Vision Leadership Board offered this position to Lisa Witvoet, with a start date of January 15.
Lisa, newly married to Brian Witvoet, is a Patient Flow Coordinator at Quinte Health, Belleville. In her former church, Faith Baptist Church in Huntsville, she was heavily involved in their Upward Basketball and Hockey outreach programs. In that role she evidenced a love for both parents and kids, and a desire to communicate the gospel. She has also been a Sunday school teacher, youth leader and small group leader. Her passion for prayer was evidenced recently when she coordinated thirty days of prayer by thirty different households for Richardo and Leona as they approached their wedding date. She loves God’s Word and has read her way through the One Year Bible many times.
“I believe that every person we meet is not by accident,” she wrote in her resume. “God places people in our lives and invites us to participate in His will in their lives.” She wants to encourage those who are already serving the community as coaches or volunteers, and she will challenge us to get to know our neighbours and colleagues by name and pray for them regularly. She also believes that we should always seek to partner with other churches when engaging in community outreach. “My goal will always be to reach people for Jesus, to help others mature and utilize their gifts to bring honour and glory to Jesus.”
In her position she will oversee and encourage the ministries of BLAST, ALPHA, SK8 Club, Service Saturdays, Disaster Response Services and the Hope/Zion Food Bank. She will also be involved in missionary support and our own outreach and evangelism efforts. Her task is not to “do” all of this by herself but to involve all of us in ministry.
Please welcome Lisa as our newest Zone Coordinator, and pray for her and the rest of the staff.
- Pastor Peter
