Hopeful Story, December 1, 2013

Christina Reid, a new Christian who was baptized at Hope Fellowship Church last year, is actively raising money for her eleven month missions tour to eleven different countries. One of her “World Race” fundraising events is a concert by pop recording artist, Mzz Sarah G. Opening the concert will be Lydia Van Dyk, an amazing vocalist whose pure and powerful voice is well known to us because of her years of participation on various praise teams.
So who is this Mzz Sarah G who will be performing at Hope Fellowship Church on Friday, December 6 at 7 p.m.? And what kind of music does she write and sing?
It turns out that she is a University student in Oshawa and a committed Christian who wants to use her songwriting and singing to inspire youth and young adults. The “G” stands for Gonsalves, her last name. Her genre of music is New School Gospel.
One of her promotional pics shows her wearing a sweatshirt that says “For Christ Entirely.” Her lyrics are all about loving God and seeing Jesus as your best friend. From all that I can tell, she is an awesome young Christian who is unashamed about her faith and dedicated to proclaiming the good news in a hip hop style that she has made uniquely hers. She has worked with community kids from a very young age and brings a very positive message that encourages youth to just be themselves, confident in the way that God has made them.
Our auditorium has already proven itself as a terrific venue, e.g. the recent Steve Bell concert. In five days it will come alive again with a concert by the very relevant and cool Mzz Sarah G. Check out her website: “mzzsarahg.com”. Then text your friends and tell them to come.
