Stories of Hope

  We are a few months into the new ministry year, programs are well under way and there appears to be a growing energy throughout our church family. Although we could probably still use a few more people in the children's ministry area, and I'm still not sure why certain people like to vandalize stuff around here, we are hearing stories of blessing and hope throughout the apparent randomness that each day brings.

  As a church family, we spent last week in a posture of prayer and preparation. Prayer inviting God into our ministries, and preparation for the ministry year to come. Over the week, groups of people gathered here, with each evening focusing on a different element of our ministry.

  Over the past few weeks, Vickie and I have been talking about more courageously following the promptings of the Hold Spirit.   A few days ago, I had this feeling that I needed to leave the push bar on "open" in case someone needed access to the church...

  You just never know when you may face an opportunity to make a difference!

Dear people of HOPE,   Over the past month, Pastor Dale has been preaching on the “inside out church”, and the past two weeks have been very mission focused… challenging us to think outside of our normal and sometimes comfortable ‘pews’, to find ways in which to engage the world around us in an effort to love and serve our “neighbours”.

  This past Wednesday I was privileged to represent Hope Fellowship at Pastors Day at Knox Christian School.   I wish you could have all been there to see the Durham High School praise team lead worship and the Knox kids sing along and participate by playing drums!

  A few weeks ago, I was leaving the office when I saw a car drive up to the church and a mom and son walked into the church.

  In June, I had the privilege of joining almost 200 pastors and elders from across North America at Dordt College for the annual gathering of our denomination. Location? Smack dab in the center of hectares of Iowa farmland!
