Did you know that there are 650 prayers in the entirety of the Bible, and that approximately 450 of them got answered?! That’s almost a 70% success rate for how faithful God’s promises are that when we knock, He answers! And that’s just for those that were inspirationally recorded for our benefit today. Amazing.
The thing about prayer is that it can often be challenging, rigorous, and painful at times, especially in a world where there are thousands of distractions vying for our attention, and as a testifying follower of Jesus myself, I can admit to this struggle.

However, prayer can also be one of the simplest, most rewarding and beautiful things that we have in our toolbox of spiritual practices. Prayer is the one thing that nobody can ever take away from you, and as long as you have even just a sliver of consciousness, God is simply a thought away from hearing your heart’s cry.
For the last couple of months every Sunday morning there has been this new thing happening before service – yup, you guessed it! – PRAYER! Week in and week out a handful of Hope Fellowship’ians gather to pray for the service at hand. We pray for the worship team, the preacher, the Sunday school, and the plethora of volunteers who serve, helping make Hope the wonderful place it is to worship. Among many other things, we open up our hearts to allow the Holy Spirit to guide us, and basically, we just pray for The Church!
It’s encouraging to see God’s people coming together, joining in spirit and in truth, whether people pray out loud or pray in their minds, whether they keep their eyes open or closed, whether they read scripture or share a prepared prayer. Some simply come to soak in the atmosphere while others come to receive prayer for themselves. Regardless of how or why people come, God is moving in this place and because of His willingness to answer our feeble prayers and show up when we call upon His name, we should be very encouraged.
We truly serve a living God!
My hope is found through His ability to hear me and my hearts cry, and I hope that as you pray, (and consider attending this time of prayer from 9:15-9:45am), you’ll experience that same hope and encouragement because God is alive and well, moving in this place.

Praise be to His glory and in His name!
